Brief:
App UI Design for an app called "BUZZStop"
There has been an rapid urbanisation in the cities of India which has led to an increase in demand in mobility. Public transport has not been able to satisfy the transportation needs of the population leading to rise in vehicle ownership. The huge number of private vehicles, heterogenous traffic and limited road space has led to the problems of congestion on the Indian city roads.
The situation is no different in Kolkata. Kolkata has a high population density. The road space in Kolkata is only six percent compared to Delhi and Mumbai, which have greater road space. High demand for mobility coupled with low road space leads to high congestion on the roads of Kolkata.

Secondary Research
The bus network in Kolkata may not adequately cover all areas, forcing commuters to rely on alternative modes of transport for certain destinations.
Many buses suffer from inadequate maintenance, leading to breakdowns and disruptions in service.
The city's congested roads result in frequent delays and longer travel times for bus commuters.
What problems do we generally face while commuting daily on public buses?
Public buses in Kolkata often face overcrowding during peak hours, making the commute uncomfortable and inconvenient for passengers.

Social Media and Forums
Look for reports from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the West Bengal Transport Corporation, or other relevant government agencies. These reports might contain data on traffic flow, congestion hotspots, and public transport usage patterns.
Search for academic papers or studies conducted by researchers focusing on urban transportation in Kolkata. These studies often delve into the causes of traffic congestion and the effectiveness of public bus systems.
Browse through online newspapers or news websites for articles discussing traffic issues and challenges faced by public bus commuters in Kolkata. These articles may offer insights based on interviews with commuters, experts, and government officials.
Look for transportation surveys conducted by organizations or research groups that focus on urban mobility. These surveys often collect data on commuting patterns, public transport satisfaction levels, and reasons for choosing particular modes of transportation.
Explore social media platforms and online forums where residents of Kolkata discuss transportation issues. These platforms can provide anecdotal evidence and personal experiences related to traffic congestion and public bus usage.
Solution
As a viable solution, I have decided on making an app to book nearby local buses and view the buses around as well as the number of people in it.It is basically an app inspired from UBER, OLA and Rapido, which are leading online cab booking apps which help you track and book nearby cabs anytime anywhere. The same idea, if implemented on buses, it becomes so much easier to track nearby buses from each bus stop and not wait forever.
The app's sole benefit would that we can choose which bus we want to board, and if it's too crowded or not. With a built in scanning system in it, everytime a passenger boards the bus, we can keep count of the people boarding the bus

Tridha was my classmate back in school. She used to travel by bus to come and go from school. On being asked about the transportation system in Kolkata was that she struggles a lot to travel by the crowded buses in the heat. A systematic procedure would be appreciated.

App Analysis
The good
The bad
The app has simple, yet modern and clean design with big headings and colors for high contrasts.
The meaning behind the UI icons is explained.
The ordering process is smooth and there is many filters and categories of products.
The navigation is unuintive and takes time to get to
Has to be refreshed quite often to update the location of the buses
Payments can only be done offline aqnd not through the app

This is the BuzzStop logo. The color palette is blue and white as the buses in Kolkata have the same combination. The entire concept of the name is merging the bee and the bus. The yellow and black represents the color of the bee.
