What problems do we generally face linguistically as residents of India?
Language Diversity:
With over 1,600 languages spoken across India, linguistic diversity poses a significant challenge to effective communication and understanding among its residents.
Limited Multilingualism:
Many Indians are proficient in only one or two languages, hindering inter-regional communication and national integration.
Language Education Disparities:
Varied levels of access to quality language education result in unequal opportunities and economic disparities, particularly for marginalized linguistic communities.
Cultural Preservation vs. Integration:
Balancing the preservation of regional languages and cultures with the need for a common lingua franca for national unity remains a delicate issue in India's linguistic landscape.
Employment Challenges:
Language requirements in the job market can exclude individuals fluent in regional languages but not in English or Hindi, limiting their employment prospects and economic mobility.
